Ways to Give as an Individual

We can’t do this alone—we need the generosity and creativity of our community.

Individual Ways to Give

There are countless ways we can work together to make a difference. Check out some of the ideas below! And remember, you can always support us by making a donation or volunteering. Let’s unite to check hearts, protect hearts and save lives!

Create a Facebook Fundraiser

Facebook fundraising is a great way to connect your friends to the Peyton Walker Foundation and build awareness for Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Do it to celebrate your birthday, wedding or any special day. It’s easy to do!

  • Facebook covers all processing fees.
  • 100% of every donation is sent directly to Peyton Walker Foundation
  • Facebook sends your donors a confirmation of their donation, stating that their donation is a charitable contribution.
  • It only takes about 5 minutes to set up. Click the Fundraisers button under the Explore section, and Facebook will guide you through the process.

Turn Your Passion into Purpose (Peer-to-Peer Fundraising)

Get Creative and Get Active, Race, ride, climb a mountain, host a fun event with friends, or dedicate your special day – whatever inspires you, use it to raise funds for our mission! Let your unique passion drive you to make a difference.

  • Design Your Message and Share, share a photo or video and share your personal story so others can understand why you’re inspired to support our cause. We will personalize a page to connect with others and show your dedication.
  • Spread the Word, Share your page with friends and family. Ask for their support through donations and encourage them to share your page as well. Every bit of support helps us further our mission!

Company Match

Does your company match funds? Does it allow you to allocate part of your salary to a United Way Campaign? Will it donate to a nonprofit in exchange for your volunteer hours? If you have any questions about these options, please contact us.

Plan a Community Service Project

There’s something truly special about kids helping kids. Your child can get involved by planning a screening, creating a project, or hosting a fundraiser for the Peyton Walker Foundation. Our students have shown incredible creativity by hosting basketball tournaments, bake sales, pickleball tournaments, and more. Please reach out to us with any questions or ideas you have.

Peyton Heart Heroes

Do you have a high school student in your life? The Student Ambassador Program was designed for students by students. Raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest at your high school and participate in a variety of events.

Required Minimum Distribution (RMd)

You can give through your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) of your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) support our mission. It’s often called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

IRS regulations require individuals with qualified retirement accounts to begin taking minimum withdrawls from their account once they turn 72. If you need to take your RMD and would like to avoid additional taxes, consider gifting your distribution as a QCD to New Hope Ministries. You can also name Peyton Walker Foundation as a beneficiary of your IRA.

New for 2023 … Secure 2.0 Act offers a special one-time qualified charitable distribution (QCD) to a CGA! Beginning in 2023, people who are age 70 1/2 and older may elect (as part of their QCD) a one-time gift up to $50,000, adjusted annually for inflation, to a CGA. This amount counts toward the annual required minimum distribution (RMD), if applicable.

Support Through Donations (Partnership with Community Aid)

Help us make a difference in our community while decluttering your home! The Peyton Walker Foundation is a proud partner of Community Aid in Central Pennsylvania. By clearing out your closets, you can support our life-saving initiatives in a significant way. Clean Out Your Closets: Gather gently used clothing, shoes, and home textiles that you no longer need. Host a Donation Drive: Rally your community, workplace, or school to collect items on a larger scale.

Drop Off Your Donations: Visit the Community Aid website to find the nearest donation location. When you drop off your items, be sure to use the Peyton Walker Foundation’s partner number: 50289. Every item you donate using our code will convert into financial support for our foundation, allowing us to continue our mission of checking hearts, protecting hearts, and saving lives.

Gifts of Stock and Appreciated Securities

When you gift stocks and other securities, you make an outsized impact without taking money directly out of your bank account. Plus, neither you nor the Peyton Walker Foundation will be taxed on the gains for appreciated assets you donate. Meet your giving goals, enjoy potential tax benefits, and contribute to the mission of the Peyton Walker Foundation.

Include The Peyton Walker Foundation in Your Will

By choosing to include The Peyton Walker Foundation in your will, you’re not just planning for the future—you’re helping to ensure a lasting impact on heart health awareness and emergency response training. Your legacy will live on, helping us continue our mission to check hearts, protect hearts, and save lives. Encourage Gifts in Wills from Family and Friends: Inspire your loved ones to make a lasting difference by leaving a gift to The Peyton Walker Foundation in their wills. It’s a powerful way to advocate for heart health and to contribute to a cause that saves lives every day.
